Sporting Lisbon - counterfeit shirts from the 21st century
These are counterfeit jerseys, made without permission or licensing from Sporting Clube de POrtugal. Some are fairly well made, but all have visible differences towards the official shirts. In general, quality is low, with bad stitching and finishings. The official jerseys of the current season as well as from the previous season can be found in the official Club shop "Loja Verde" as well as in authorised sellers.
There are many fake counterfeit shirts being sold all over the world. Anyone interested in the real deal can contact the official Club store and ask what you want, they will arrange something sensible (this link is not sponsored: verdebranco.net does not have and never will have any payed ads).
International fakes
From about the mid 2000s, counterfeit jerseys coming mainly from Asian countries flooded the market. Initially the quality of these fake Sporting Lisbon shirts was very poor, and they were very easy to distinguish from the real deal. Then the "quality" slowly improved, and the unaware fan can be fooled. Nevertheless, there are many differences, and anyone who holds a true Sporting shirt together with an "equivalent" fake one will immediately notice that there is no possible comparison.
One worrying development is that the fakers also falsify the league patches, such as the national league patch or the Champion's League patch, and there are many patched up counterfeit jerseys pretending to be match worn shirts.
